PWRDF is pleased to launch our 2020 World of Gifts guide. The guide is live on our website at pwrdf.org/worldofgifts and will also be arriving in the mailboxes of Anglican Journal subscribers next week. Flip through the pages below and download from Issuu, or download it here.

This year’s guide lifts up the work of our partners taking climate action, including projects that focus on food security, gender rights and clean water.  Climate change touches everything.

The World of Gifts is our major fundraising campaign, raising more than $550,000 last year. The most popular item has always been goats, and this year’s guide does not disappoint! A project with Partners In Health Malawi is providing three goats to Community Health Workers to supplement their income. All CHWs in the program receive training and three goats, and this year’ the opportunity to cover the costs of one, two or all three goats. Other livestock gifts include chickens for women farmers in Colombia and donkeys for families in Kenya who depend on these friendly workers to haul clean water from their new wells.

We are pleased to be able to include gifts with a funding match from the Government of Canada. In March 2020, our four-year All Mothers and Children Count program ended. It was funded with a 6:1 match and significantly improved the health and food security of communities in Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Mozambique. In June, PWRDF was given the green light to continue supporting our partners as they cope with COVID-19 through the provision of PPE, hand sanitizer and education and awareness efforts. You can keep a clinic safe for a day, a week or a month, and for every $1 donated, the government will give $6.

Gifts to PWRDF’s equity in the Canadian Foodgrains Bank supporting emergency relief are also eligible for up to a 4:1 match from the Government of Canada.

The World of Gifts has often been a way for parishes to come together to raise funds for a “big ticket item.” This year we are again offering two favourites: Buy the Whole Farm, which supports people in Kenya, Colombia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Cuba; and Shallow Wells in Kenya. This year we have added the opportunity to fund a well with a solar-powered pump.

With every gift, you have the option of receiving removable window stickers and customizable gift cards. Simply indicate how many of each you’d like to receive. If you are giving online, you can also take advantage of our e-card option.

This colourful and engaging guide has something for everyone. Visit pwrdf.org/worldofgifts and make your gifts online 24/7, or call 1-877-936-9199 to speak with us today.
