Ruth Corston

Diocese of Moosonee

Ruth came to the Diocese of Moosonee as a young bride in 1986. Her husband, Tom, had been appointed as a priest to St. Mark’s Iroquois Falls, after a time in her home Diocese of Fredericton. After a dozen and a half years serving in the Dioceses of Fredericton and Algoma, they returned to the Diocese of Moosonee, when Tom was elected 9th Diocesan Bishop in 2010. Ruth fell in love with the people of the Diocese as they drove for many hours and days to the James Bay communities, and through listening to the stories her husband would share. She retired after 26 years with the Federal Government, having worked in administrative roles, with a 10-year break to raise their two sons. In retirement, Ruth found becoming a PWRDF Diocesan Representative to be a great fit and a way to continue to stay in contact with her many friends throughout the Diocese.
