The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund is actively participating in #IDW2019 through social media and events.

PWRDF staff will be presenting to International Development students at Centennial College in Scarborough, and Executive Director Will Postma will be in Ottawa to participate in a special Hill Day designed to raise awareness about International Development with MPs.

For #IDW2019, young Canadian women and girls from Foodgrains Bank member organizations recorded a video for the Prime Minister reading the I Care postcard message in support of Canadian aid.

  • Post, share or like the video on social media using the hashtags #IDW2019, #MoreCanada and #CanadaforHer.
  • Create and post your own video saying why you support and celebrate Canadian aid or reading the postcard text, using the hashtags above.
  • Contact PWRDF’s I Care campaign animator Clare Uruquhart to order PWRDF co-branded post cards for your congregation.

Global Affairs Canada will mark #IDW2019 with a celebration of Canadian contributions to poverty reduction and international humanitarian assistance in the developing world. Global Affairs’ theme “Together for Equality” reflects PWRDF’s commitment to support women and girls around the world, empowering them to reach their full potential. Check out PWRDF’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram feeds for the #devinspired photos supporting Global Affairs’ social media campaign. Post and share your own International Development photos that inspire you!

Across Canada, people who care about Canada’s role in the world will be gathering during #IDW2019 for concerts, presentations, symposiums, and workshops celebrating #genderequality and more. Check out what’s happening in your community from February 3-9.
