On Friday, August 25, Hurricane Harvey roared ashore near Houston, Texas, leaving in its wake more than four feet of rain, catastrophic and widespread flooding, and thousands of residents displaced from their home in temporary shelters as far away as Dallas and San Antonio. After days of rain, power outages, and levee breaches, Harvey turned its destructive attention on Louisiana.
PWRDF’s sister relief agency in the U.S., Episcopal Relief and Development has answered the call for emergency assistance in Houston and other affected areas. You can read President Robert W. Radtke’s post on how Episcopal Relief and Development is helping here.
In response to inquiries from PWRDF donors anxious to help in this emergency, a $5,000 grant to Episcopal Relief and Development was announced today to assist rescue, relief and recovery efforts in the affected areas.
Episcopal Relief and Development donors contributed $5,000 USD to PWRDF’s Fort McMurray wildfire relief efforts in June of 2016.
