June 18 Story: Maternal and Child Health

The maternal and child health program provides pregnant women with the accompaniment that they need in order to have healthy babies and protect the health of the mother. Under the supervision of a trained nurse the Community Health Worker provides information and educates pregnant women on safe pregnancy, nutrition, and monitor the health of the future mother until the delivery of the baby.  After the delivery, the community health worker continues to monitor the health of the mother and the child making sure that the child has all  the vaccines, proper nutrition and grows healthy.  This program reduces maternal and child mortality.

Your donation of $250 can help a community health worker to receive a 12 day training course.
