Joy Gothard

Joy was baptized, confirmed and grew up in St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Langley, B.C. She is married to Jim and they have two adult sons, their wives, a granddaughter and a grandson. Joy worked as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist enjoying a wide range of public health and hospital experiences and in every community, was active in the local Anglican Church and often returned to the Sorrento Centre for family vacations and reunions. St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral has been “home base” since settling in Kamloops. After retiring in 2004, Joy volunteered on a World Vision Public Health teaching mission in Costa Rica. Upon her return, she became more involved in supporting PWRDF and fundraised and participated in the St. Paul’s Cathedral Outreach/Peace and Justice group. Joy is a founding member of the Friends of Mount Revelstoke and Glacier National Parks, a member of the Kamloops Naturalists Club and volunteers with Nature Kids. She enjoys hiking and wandering in the hills, cross-country skiing and exploring backcountry roads on her ebike.
