Debra Gill
Debra retired as Executive Officer of the Diocese of the Arctic in 2016 after more than 20 years of employment. During her years in the Arctic, she also served as the PWRDF Diocesan Representative and was a member of the Board of the Anglican Foundation of Canada.
Thinking retirement would be a rest, she and her father, Gerry Gill, and pup Zoe relocated to Newtown in Newfoundland and Labrador. Shortly thereafter, Debra was appointed treasurer for St. Luke’s, her local church, and was then encouraged to become a licensed lay minister by Bishop John Watton. In this role, she serves in the three churches in her parish. Debra continues to support PWRDF through St. Luke’s and established a weekly prayer for PWRDF during services. Three years ago Debra was appointed treasurer for the parish while remaining treasurer for St. Luke’s.
In 2023, Bishop Watton asked her to take on the role of PWRDF Diocesan Representative for the Diocese of Central Newfoundland. Debra will work to share information about PWRDF throughout the Diocese by email and through visits to various parishes and churches to promote the work of PWRDF.
