Cuba: Pew Bulletin Story 1999
Community development and leadership are the primary focus of the Centre for Reflection and Dialogue, an ecumenical Cuban organisation that grew out of several community development programs and a process of theological renewal within the Reformed Presbyterian Church. Projects like conferences on Responsible Tourism and Prostitution, the development of a bio-gas plant as an alternative energy source, and the promotion of sustainable agriculture and community gardens–all of them engage Cubans in understanding the practical role of citizens’ organizations in a rapidly changing society. CCRD’s director, The Reverend Raimundo Garcia, has acted as one of PWRDF’s international partners on the national PWRDF Board of Directors.
