Murray MacAdam lives on the territory of the Mississaugas of the Anishinabek (Ojibwe) Nation and has decades of experience in social justice and advocacy with marginalized people in both Canada and the Global South, including a term as PWRDF Information Resources Officer from 1987-1991. He visited PWRDF partners in Africa, Asia, and South America. He worked as the Diocese of Toronto’s Social Justice and Advocacy Consultant for more than 10 years, and has had a long involvement with the Interfaith Social Assistance Reform Coalition. Murray is an author and educator on topics of progressive social change and has written several books as sole or co-author, on Indigenous issues, poverty in Ontario and community economic development. Now retired and living in Peterborough, Ontario, he is helping one of Canada’s leading Indigenous rights lawyers write his memoirs, and helps teach courses on creative retirement planning.
