Take a Walk with Refugees
June 9, 2014
By Simon Chambers
As a member of the Canadian Council for Refugees (CCR), PWRDF is encouraging Anglicans across the country to participate in one of numerous “Walks with Refugees” taking place between June 16 and 22. The walks are part of CCR’s Proud to Protect Refugees campaign and mark World Refugee Day on June 20. Here’s some more information from CCR:
Join the national Walk with refugees for a stronger Canada in cities across Canada from 16-22 June to find out how:
- refugees enrich our lives and why protecting refugee rights in Canada is a strong tradition to continue
- we can make a stronger community by working together with refugees and others seeking protection
- you can help put refugee voices front and centre
Here’s how to can get involved:
- Participate in a walk near you ““ and bring a friend!
- Get together with others and plan your own walk
- Keep walking with refugees in June and beyond
