83-year old Jean Winram from the Diocese of Niagara, will voluntarily step out of a perfectly good airplane at 14,000 feet- for a perfectly good cause.  She will be skydiving to raise funds for PWRDF.

“I’m an Anglican.  I go to church.  I just have a feeling you need to help people.  Whatever I do, if it helps somebody, that’s the most important thing,” Winram said in an interview June 30.  Whether it is cooking breakfast for homeless people, cheering children as Rainbow the Clown, or jumping from an airplane to raise funds, Jean is always looking to help people.    Supporting the work of PWRDF around the world is another extension of that care for others.

Members of Jean’s home parish of St. John’s Port Dalhousie, St. Catharines will be cheering her on and waiting to greet her at the landing zone after her jump on July 10.  This will be Jean’s third tandem skydiving experience.  Tandem jumping involves the jumper being attached to an instructor- in this case, her teacher Scott.

She will share the photos and video of this jump with PWRDF, to be posted on our site.
