Lopirinlonok Loolimong’s husband died a long time ago and she was the third and last wife. She has two sons and five daughters and eight grandchildren. With the other wives, there is a total of 23 children. They are all married and none have been to school. They used to have about 50 animals, including 10 cattle. One of her sons herds cattle now, but she they have been gone grazing for five months. Before, they farmed sorghum on a small plot of land that would yield about five sacks, enough to feed the family. They would harvest wild vegetables and sell them to buy other provisions. They would make and sell charcoal if ADRA wasn’t providing this food aid, which she says has saved them.
