SCIC to Hold AGM at All Saint’s, Anglican in Regina

The Saskatchewan Council for International Cooperation(SCIC) will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at All Saint’s Anglican Church in Regina.  The AGM is open to the public.

SCIC helps fund PWRDF-partner UBINIG supports women’s rights and livelihood development through biodiversity-based and ecological farming.PWRDF has accessed SCIC for grants, including $13,014 in 2009-2010, used to support the work of
UBINIG in Bangladesh to promote women’s livelihood opportunities and rights.  PWRDF has also worked with SCIC to provide educational materials for teachers in Saskatchewan, including Off-the-Grid and the Youth Handbook.

At the AGM, participants “will begin with the business meeting, hear about the Lire Comprehensive College Project in Southern Sudan, and finish with a keynote address by Stephen Lewis” according to an SCIC press release.
