London, Ontario:   This Saturday, music lovers from across the London region will have the opportunity to gather in support of the Haitian people. The Hope for Haiti concert is expected to draw hundreds to downtown London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral, with all funds raised going directly to Haiti by Action by Churches Together, (ACT) International through The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund.

This free drop-in concert will provide guests an opportunity to make a tax receiptable donation toward relief efforts in Haiti. Donations and tax receipts will be processed through The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF) and will capitalize on the Canadian Governments undertaking to match contributions dollar for dollar.
For London North Centre MP Glen Pearson, the event represents one of the city’s greatest strengths. “London has always been a generous community and St. Paul’s Cathedral has long been at the centre of that. This important concert is a continuation of that historical presence in the downtown core and beyond. I’m pleased to be part of an event that will bring Londoners together in solidarity with the Haitian people in this time of great devastation and need,” says Pearson.
Internationally acclaimed Canadian baritone James Westman will be joined by renowned local choirs the Fagan Singers and Cantorion in an afternoon of classical music. From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., all members of the community will be welcomed into the Cathedral to enjoy the music and contribute donations to PWRDF.
“This event will be a unique combination of action and contemplation,” says Judy Brown, director of the Cantorion Choir. “The Cathedral is a wonderful venue which encourages all of us not only to lend monetary support, but to hold the people of Haiti in our thoughts.”
Anyone interested in attending or learning more about the concert is encouraged to contact Paul Grambo, Communications Officer for St Paul’s Cathedral at [email protected] or to visit the Cathedral’s website.
