The issue of global climate change was front and centre in national media, on the web and in conversations across Canada and around the world last December as the COP15 UN Climate Change Conference happened in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The results of that conference left many feeling unsatisfied and wondering what they can do to begin to make a difference in their own lives to mitigate the effects of climate change. One way to begin to look at how you as an individual, and how we as Canadians, can make positive changes in our own carbon usage is to use the following Lenten resource, the Carbon Fast for Lent.
KAIROS, the Canadian Ecumenical Justice Initiatives, developed this resource for use across Canada this Lent. The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund, as a KAIROS partner agency, is pleased to recommend it for your use either this Lent or, if your parish or group already has a Lenten program in place, as an educational focus for your use at another time.
