PWRDF Staffing Announcement

The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF) is delighted to announce that Carolyn Vanderlip will join the staff team as 50th Anniversary Program Facilitator in July 2008 for a two year contract.

The PWRDF story is one of the good news stories of the Anglican Church of Canada.  Since its creation, Anglican dioceses have contributed $88 million dollars to sustainable development, relief, refugees, and global justice. The PWRDF 50th Anniversary is a time of celebration for the Anglican Church of Canada.  The events will honour PWRDF’s first 50 years and are a forward look to ongoing innovative ministry.

The 50th Anniversary Program Facilitator will work with staff, board, networks, and partners to realize the goals of celebrating 50 years of dynamic ministry, raising awareness, and increasing involvement in programming and support for PWRDF.  Carolyn will be responsible for the facilitation of the 50th Anniversary program from its launch in October 2008 to its conclusion in June 2010 which includes the facilitation of the sponsorship by dioceses of 50 refugee cases.

Carolyn is well suited for this position and brings many years of experience with PWRDF and the Anglican Church of Canada. Through her volunteer work with the Diocese of Niagara as the Refugee Coordinator, Carolyn has acquired vast knowledge and experience in project management, communications, and international development. She is in her second term as co-chair of the NGO/Government committee on Private Sponsorship of Refugees Program and has cultivated effective relationships. Carolyn recently participated in the research for and co-writing of a report on PWRDF’s relationship with CIDA in a contract position. Her experience in the financial sector has provided her with organisational and management knowledge. In reflecting on joining the PWRDF staff team, Carolyn wrote “I am passionate about the work of PWRDF and the Private Sponsorship Program, and I am excited about the many opportunities the 50th Anniversary program will bring to the organisation, its partners, and Canadian Anglicans.”

Cheryl Curtis, Executive Director, expressed her excitement at Carolyn’s arrival, “We welcome back a friend whose combination of experience, skills, professionalism, and commitment to the values of partnership will guarantee a celebratory and successful 50th Anniversary program for our church.”

Please join us in celebrating the arrival of Carolyn Vanderlip as PWRDF’s 50th Anniversary Program Facilitator and welcoming her as a member of the Anglican Church of Canada team.
