Canada: World Water Day Events and Activities

World Water Day is fast approaching and there are both local and global opportunties creating a groundswell of public concern for accessible, clean water.
International Forum
Activists from Canada, including KAIROS, have gathered with Southern partners in Mexico City as part of the International Forum for the Defence of Water, challenging the water privatization agenda of the 4th World Water Forum (March 16-22).

Local Events
From Atlantic to Pacific, from the Great Lakes to Great Slave Lake, thousands more are preparing to take part in nearly 50 events across Canada on or around Wednesday March 22 to mark World Water Day: a time to remind our governments that equitable access to clean water is a human right.

Tell Our Government to Keep Water Public! KAIROS joins in launching a special week-long web action called Click for Clean Water  an automated email (which you can and should personalize) to the Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of the Environment, and your MP saying that you think public water needs to be protected from overuse, commodification, pollution, and privatization!
